THE NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE SYSTEM
No Objection Certificate popularly abbreviated as NOC refers to a certificate issued by the Commission to any person who wishes to pursue studies outside Tanzania, upon the satisfaction that the holder possesses the minimum requirements to undertake the study he/she is admitted.
Through the No Objection Certificate, the Commission declares that a student has the minimum required qualifications to join a Higher Learning Institution, has the relevant qualifications to the programme he is admitted to and that the institutions to which admission is sought is credible.
A No Objection Certificate usually contain information on the programme to which a certificate bearer is admitted, the accreditation status of a University, the Country into which the University is based and the duration of the programme of study. It is a clearance or a form of approval that qualifies the bearer to pursue further studies in a foreign country.
Applicants for NOC shall have to produce the following documents for evaluation and validation before a NOC certificate is issued:
- A signed application letter addressed to the Executive Secretary clarifying the programme to be pursued;
- Certified copies of the following certificates;
- Postgraduate/Degree/Advanced Diploma/Diploma transcripts and Certificates;
- Form IV, Form VI National Examination Certificates and Award Verification Number (AVN) from NACTE
- Certificates from foreign examination bodies for Ordinary, Advanced level education or Diploma should be verified by relevant authorities.
- Certificate in foreign language must be accompanied by certified translations into English. Note that both the document in the original language and the translation are required.
Use Payment Control Number as the Account Number and the Account Name is Tanzania Commission for Universities. Visit any Branch or Bank Agent of CRDB or BOT to make payment.
